QuesTek Hires New Chief Executive Officer Aziz Asphahani

EVANSTON, IL, June 18, 2013 - QuesTek Innovations LLC is pleased to announce Dr. Aziz Asphahani is joining the organization as the new Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, 2013. He will be leading the company’s efforts in growth and business development.

QuesTek designs, develops, and commercializes new high performance materials, such as Ferrium® S53™, which was designed for the US Air Force as a more corrosion resistant alternative to incumbent ultra high strength steels that require toxic cadmium coatings. Its Ferrium® C61™ and C64™ alloys are being evaluated under Army-funded programs as next generation rotor shaft and transmission gear steels by Boeing and by Bell Helicopter.

Dr. Asphahani has an extensive background in both metallurgy and business, having acted as Director of Technology / R&D at Cabot Corporation, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Haynes International, and President at both CABVAL and CARUS Chemical Company.

He has also been very active in a number of professional organizations including having served as President of ASM International, ASM Foundation Chairman, Director of NACE and member of the American Chemistry Council Board of Directors.

Dr. Asphahani holds a Diplome Ingenieur – Physics from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an expert in alloy development and metallic corrosion, has been awarded 8 patents and has authored more than 65 papers on high alloys and corrosion control throughout his career.
