QuesTek's Ferrium C61 Scores in the Baja 1000
Evanston, IL, December 15, 2003 – The Deco Motorsports team, running a developmental ring and pinion using QuesTek’s Ferrium® C61 high-performance gear steel, placed 3rd in their class in the 2003 SCORE International Baja 1000, held on November 18th through the 22nd in Ensenada, Baja California. This was the second race trial for the new ring and pinion designed to meet the harsh demands of the 1/2-1600 Class off-road vehicles. The team finished just 11 minutes behind the race leader. This 3rd place showing followed Deco’s 5th place finish in the SCORE Primm 300, the first trial for C61. Steve Roberts, owner of Deco Motorsports stated that the transmission, prepped by Dave Folts, was flawless in both races. Based on these results, QuesTek is working closely with Deco Motorsports and Dave Folts to introduce Ferrium® C61 to the demanding SCORE International Circuit.
