Sam Sorkin, M.S.
M.S. Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern University, 2019, Certificate in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME)
B.S. Physics and Mathematics, Bradley University, 2015
Current Role at QuesTek
Sam Sorkin recently joined QuesTek’s Modeling and Software Development team. He is responsible for the implementation and generalization of integrated Process-Structure-Property prediction models to address materials design problems.
Background and Specialization
Before joining QuesTek in 2019, Sam completed his M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with a concentration in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME). During this time, he gained experience in many computational materials science techniques including thermodynamic modelling (CALPHAD), atomistic simulations (DFT, phase-field), and metallurgical property modelling (TRIP-steels). Prior to this, Sam gained diverse experience in both computational and experimental methods during his undergraduate physics and mathematics research as well as his previous position as a Research and Development Scientist for an industrial silicate company.
