Pin Lu, Ph.D.

Program Manager

Education

Ph.D. Materials Science and Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, 2016

M.S. Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology, Beijing, 2011

B.S. Materials Science and Engineering,Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, 2009

Current Role at QuesTek

Pin Lu is responsible for developing and using materials (surface) design models elucidating corrosion/oxidation and failure modes in order to design and invent novel corrosion-resistant materials.

Background and Specialization

He has extensive and diverse research experience in the field of corrosion/electrochemistry.  He specializes in modeling various corrosion phenomena, such as passivity (passive film), localized corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, etc., on metallic materials, e.g. steels, aluminum alloys, and titanium alloys.  His PhD dissertation was titled: “Corrosion Issues in the Disposal of High Level Nuclear Waste”.
