Current Role at QuesTek

Jeff works closely with industry and all branches of the government to identify, understand and resolve their most challenging materials issues or limitations. He manages the project scoping and proposal efforts to leverage QuesTek’s Integrated Computational Materials Engineering capabilities to model, optimize or design advanced materials solutions meeting end-user client needs.

Additional responsibilities include continuing the expansion of QuesTek’s technical consulting and custom alloy design projects with industry, negotiating licensing agreements, forming international strategic partnerships and supporting business development growth in QuesTek’s joint ventures in Europe and Japan. He also assists in defining and executing the company strategy on commercialization of novel materials  designed by QuesTek in both traditional and additive manufacturing.

In earlier roles at QuesTek, he led efforts that expanded the qualification and adoption of QuesTek's licensed Ferrium steels into new and demanding applications, including for example in commercial aircraft actuators, safety-critical Navy landing gear, space exploration, high performance racing transmissions and oil and gas production.

Professional Associations

He is active in ASM International and The American Gear Manufactures Association Emerging Technology Committee.

He has been an active volunteer on the AeroMat organizing committee since 2015, was the conference Vice Chair for AeroMat in 2020 and is the Chair for AeroMat in 2021. At AeroMat he has coordinated, organized and moderated panel discussions on metallic Additive Manufacturing and on future aerospace materials needs.

Publications and Presentations

Jeff has written numerous papers and given presentations promoting the design and adoption of advanced materials for demanding applications at key conferences such as AGMA, AeroMat, RAPID and The American Helicopter Society.

Additionally, he has been invited by major corporations to present at innovation, technology and materials-focused events in the research, medical device, aerospace/defense and oil and gas/energy sectors.

Background and Specialization

Prior to joining QuesTek, his career experience included quality, process, manufacturing and applications engineering positions in steel, polymers, ceramics and industrial gas.
