RING AND PINION
–
QuesTek has designed ring and pinions for a number of off-road racing applications. These products, utilizing
Ferrium® C61
, provide longer life and increased reliability under the strenuous race conditions of the SCORE, SNORE, and CORR circuits. After two years of rigorous testing, QuesTek introduced a new high-performance ring and pinion for 091 gearboxes at the Laughlin Desert Challenge in January 2005. Response since then has been amazing, with the cars running QuesTek parts leading the way in the ½ 1600 class winning points championships in both 2005 and 2006. DOG RINGS
–
QuesTek's
Ferrium® C61
was specifically designed for demanding dog ring applications. It combines a hard case with an ultrahigh-strength core and excellent fracture toughness. Initial testing indicates improved performance; additional testing is currently underway.
GEARS
–
QuesTek's
Ferrium® C61
allows manufacturers to design gears that are narrower and lighter yet still provide excellent performance and reliability. QuesTek gears have run successfully on tracks across America in the ASA and NASCAR series, including famed Talledega. Improved power density also drives values in aerospace applications and NASA is currently evaluating
Ferrium® C61
for use in aerospace gearing.
INPUT SHAFTS
–
Input shafts undergo tremendous stress, particularly in NASCAR racing. QuesTek is now testing several designs utilizing
Ferrium® C61
.
CAMSHAFTS
–
Camshafts, especially in NASCAR, are one of the leading causes of engine failure resulting in a DNF. QuesTek is testing both
Ferrium® C61
and
Ferrium® C69
for this application. Initial lab-test results are promising, on track testing is expected in the near future.
